Semi-welded plate heat exchangers are the standard choice for industrial refrigeration and hazardous chemical processes. By laser-welding two plates together to create a sealed "cassette" for the aggressive media, the risk of leakage is virtually eliminated on the critical side.

The non-aggressive side (often cooling water) remains gasketed, allowing the unit to be opened for mechanical cleaning on that side—delivering a thermal solution that is both incredibly safe and highly maintainable.
